Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 18, 2026
Your privacy is our ultimate priority. Since neXend runs entirely locally to transfer files between devices offline, your data remains fully yours.
1. No Personal Data Collected
We do not collect, store, upload, or sell your personal information. All files, metadata, photos, and system transfer logs are processed strictly on your device and are never sent to external servers.
2. Device Permissions Clarified
To provide fast peer-to-peer file transfers, clean phone storage, and support home screen widgets, we require specific device permissions:
- Storage / Photos & Videos: Required to explore, play, select, and save transferred media directly on your device.
- Location & WiFi: Required for peer-to-peer device discovery and high-speed Wi-Fi Direct/Hotspot connections.
- Accessibility Service: Optional. Used exclusively for our notification widget's 'Take Screen Snapshot' feature and to programmatically trigger RAM/cache clearing. No input or credentials are ever read or logged.
- Media Projection: Optional. Used strictly for screen mirroring from your mobile device to a connected remote browser. No mirroring data is recorded or sent outside your local network.
3. Offline Peer-to-Peer Architecture
neXend uses highly secure, local-only Wi-Fi Direct and Hotspot connections to move files. Your data is encrypted and transferred point-to-point without route interception. No cloud infrastructure is involved in any capacity.
4. Analytics & Error Reports
If you opt-in to help improve neXend, we may process anonymous telemetry (such as crash diagnostics via Firebase). This contains absolutely no identifiable metadata or user content, focusing only on app stability and transfer speeds.
5. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy to reflect future local-only feature enhancements. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about our data-minimization practices.
